Carol Sprock has worked in the Education Department of Penn Foster for over 11 years as an instructor in English. Before Penn Foster, Carol worked for two years as Teaching Assistant in the English Department at Calvin College and eight years in teaching at middle and high school levels.

Carol recently stated, “I’m the stereotypical English teacher in that I delight in reading and in writing. I spend too much time reading thrillers, particularly murder-mystery novels, and not enough time reading the classics like I probably should—but I don’t care. I confess to enjoying Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, which afford a quick yet entertaining way to read current novels. I primarily write nonfiction (with much of my time spent revising curriculum for Penn Foster) and poetry. I also dabble in fiction and, on occasion, enter the weekly-challenge to publish on Faithwriters.com. A favorite pastime of mine is experiencing God’s majesty in creation, particularly via wooded paths beside rollicking streams, and enjoying panoramic sunrises and sunsets. I grew up in Michigan and have lived in northwestern Washington, several northeastern states, and currently live in southern Arizona.”

Carol enjoys an eclectic mix on her MP3 including Chris Rice, The News Boys, Fernando Ortego, Mercy Me, Matt Redman, Third Day, Casting Crowns, and Buddy Green right along with local Native American music. She worked four years as editor of a quarterly column called “Thinking Thirteen” for Christian Educators’ Journal and also taught many adult Sunday school classes. Carol is a member of American Christian Writers.
