THE NEWSLETTER OF PENN FOSTER CAREER SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL — September 2010

PERSEVERANCE

You’ve made the decision to go back to school to further your education and learn new skills. It’s a very exciting time in your life. You know you’ve made the right decision, but now your life is becoming more stressful and is dramatically changing. Your free time has suddenly diminished. What do you do now?

Perseverance. Dictionary.com defines perseverance as, “steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.”

This is a reminder that there are many students wrestling with the same time restraints and the daily exhaustion of a busy life in order to get an education. It is said that busy people get the most accomplished. Many of your classmates are working two jobs, raising children, caring for their parents, volunteering their precious time to help others, and they are finding time to get an education. At the start of this fall season, we want to remind you that you are not alone. You can meet others like yourself on eCampus, an online community for Penn Foster students, faculty, alumni, and prospective students!

It’s true that distance learning has special challenges, but you can succeed. Stay focused and on track. Continue with your studies, fight for the education you want, ask for help, and persevere.
