FACES OF PENN FOSTER

“I started spending winters in New York when my husband got a job there. At home, in Croatia, I was an artist, art and design teacher, and art and bookshop owner. In New York, I was living as a stay-at-home-mom. Suddenly, I found myself confused with the parenting questions but delighted about the way a child’s mind works and fascinated with a kid’s passion and natural creativity. New horizons opened in front of me. I finished the Child Day Care Management Program with Penn Foster. In the meantime, my second daughter was born. I started studying Early Childhood Education with Penn Foster College. I carried my books across the ocean every time I went back home to Croatia, taking exams online wherever I was at the moment. When we moved from New York to New Jersey in July of 2008, “Early Arts Family Child Care Home” was finally born. I became a registered family child care provider and first aid and CPR certified. My home will soon be a registered family child care home. Also, I recently finished the Early Childhood Education Associate Degree with Penn Foster College. This will be a new beginning, and I am very excited about it. I did a good job with my own kids, and I am very proud to say it. Penn Foster was there when I was craving answers. And with my living in both the U.S. and Croatia, an education would not be possible without an online education as affordable as Penn Foster’s.”      —Sonja
